Well, here we are already into December. Where has the fall gone? Christmas is cheerily rolling upon us faster than I care to think. Have not started gift shopping yet.

You know they say that the older you get the faster time goes (not sure who “they” are).  I must be getting REALLY old!!  I have a tough time recalling how long ago events happen; what seems to have happened only months ago actually was a year ago or longer.

This brings to mind that when you have a plan or goal (at my age) that you need to take ACTION NOW to achieve it. Procrastination is not an option for success, as we are all on a limited travel time schedule.  Let’s face it, we will all reach our final destination at some point. What is meaningful is what we accomplish between now and when we graduate to the next big thing. Younger readers (anyone under, oh lets say 45) will not recognize my mental state toward ageing and event planning. For the rest of us, living accomplishments, Creating a Family Legacy, Securing Wealth to financial freedom, Checking items off the old Bucket list, or simply creating and completing life enhancing activities, become more urgent as the sands of time sift through the hour glass.

Okay by now you are thinking, “What the Hell is this guy talking about” or smoking.  Well, we all have ideas of things that we want to do, achieve, see, learn, go, people we want to forgive, apologies to, reconnect with, help etc.. Some of us have these things written down, some of us just keep them in our minds. However or wherever you keep your list, my point is that we must take action to see them accomplished. My suggestion is to WRITE them down and actually schedule them on your calendar, when you are going to take action to begin and/or complete them. If an event is scheduled on your calendar you are much more likely to act on it.

Some of these events will be short term, Calling an old friend, sending a thank you note to someone who helped you, Creating your personal Net Worth Statement, Sending that donation cheque to your favourite charity you thought about doing six months ago, this is the time for giving.  Maybe you always thought how neat it would be to pay for your latte with a $50 bill and leaving the change for customers behind you.  JUST DO IT!  You will be amazed how much lighter and happier small events like these will make you feel.

Personally, I donated ALL the proceed from my book launch and subsequent sales to the Edmonton SPCA. It Felt GOOD. This time of the year I do my donation also to the Salvation Army, The War Ambs  and Red Cross, also support Crime Watch and the Legion.

Some of these events will be longer term, will required more planning and maybe even the assistance of others. No matter, schedule on your calendar the date you WILL begin the process and give yourself a Realistic completion date.

My big event for 2020 is a Trek to Macho Picchu in May 2020 with my Brother Steven. This is scheduled to be planned and booked this month.
I will keep you updated

Anyway, this is my rant for today. Hope you can get some inspiration from it. Hope you and you family have a Fantastic and prosperous 2020.

Perfect Timing

On vacation in Hawaii, my step- mom, Sandy,
called a café to make reservations for 7 p.m. Checking her book,
the cheery young hostess said, “I’m sorry, all we have is 6:45. Would you like that?”

“That’s fine,” Sandy said.
“Okay,” the woman confirmed. Then she added,

“Just be advised you may have to wait 15 minutes for your table.”

Ken Who?

Knock, Knock!
Who’s there?

Ken who?

Ken I come in? It’s cold out here.

Policeman Jokes

Q: What did the policeman say to his belly button?
A: You’re under a vest.

MSW?!(Mom say what?!)

Texting acronyms can stump even the best parents:
Mom: Your great-aunt just passed away. LOL.
Son: Why is that funny?
Mom: It’s not funny, David! What do you mean?
Son: Mom, LOL means Laughing Out Loud.
Mom: I thought it meant Lots of Love. I have to call everyone back.
